Acheria is a regency run by a Human queen. They were once the single seat of power on the entire continent thousands of years ago but a streak of madness runs through the royal line and this caused a number of wars and successions.
The most recent of these was during the reign of King Roland, during which General Zaibar lead a massive exodus and carved out a large chunk of land and set himself up as Emperor. Obviously, since then relations have been frosty between the two nations and only Torion's military strength, which is the largest on the continent, has kept Acheria from striking back.
The Queen, Estrilla, is not as mad as her father but is cruel and spoilt. She thinks nothing of sending men to their deaths and has little or no compassion for the common people. The country holds large deposits of silver and gold as well as an army which, while smaller than Torion's, is still fearsome which has afforded it power despite being surrounded by foes.
